Introduction

Ever since moving to Colorado from Nebraska two years ago, I have heard many people comment about how boring Nebraska is. From hearing complaints about cowboys to the blandness of I-80, I have concluded that the common person is completely disillusioned about the geographic wonders of Nebraska.

With this blog, I will further educate others and myself about Nebraska’s geography by addressing the six different ecosystems running along the statewide Niobrara River, the badlands of NW Nebraska including Toadstool Geologic Park, which is close to the Agate fossil bed. Also, let us not forget about Chimney Rock as well as one of the largest underground aquifers in the world, the Ogallala.

In all reality, these jokers, geographically jaded by the common beauty of Colorado’s Rocky Mountains will probably never learn to appreciate other beauties within neighboring states. I am fine with that. I simply want to have the ability to correct naysayers and impress at cocktail parties.

Best,
